Banana Treat

My aunt used to make these for us during the summer. She loved them so much.
You'll want to freeze your banana's first. It was a lot easier this way for me anyways.
As you can see I cut them in half and put the Popsicle stick in

I used this chocolate. I hope this is what my aunt used.

This is the very awesome tasting banana freeze pops with chocolate for a HOT summer day!
My husband loved these!

My Mama's Homemade Ice Cream

First of all if you don't have an Electric Ice Cream Maker.. You'll need one!

Things you will need:
Vanilla

Sugar

Eggs

Salt

Condensed Milk

Milk

Very WELL beat (6) eggs
Add 2cups sugar
1 can of condensed milk
1tsp of salt
2 tsp of vanilla
These can be mixed in a bowl or in the ice cream container.

This is what everything except the milk should look like..

Last thing you'll do is add the milk 3/4's of the way to the top.
Just like you see in the picture on top.
The reason for this is. Once the ingredients start to harden it will expand. You don't want it to over flow and make a big mess!

You'll add a layer of ice and a layer of salt, a layer of ice and a layer of salt. Until you can't fit anymore.
It should look a lot like the picture above.

I had my kittens out ( should learn by now) So I had to put my ice cream up quickly before they got to it.. so no after picture yet. I will in the morning though!

This is what it looks like after being put in the freezer over night.

But it was very good!!

Baked Squash and Zucchini

First pre-heat your oven to 350

Coat your pan with Olive Oil

Here is my Squash and Zucchini
Line these in a pan

Next you will sprinkle..
Garlic Powder

Parmesan Cheese

Pepper

Spray a bit of cooking oil or I used PAM!

This is how it should look after you sprinkle all the ingredients on.

Cook for 30-45 minutes depending really on your thickness of your veggie.
I did forget to take a picture of them after they came out of the oven. But I'll be doing another batch tomorrow so don't worry. I'll take one then!

FYI: Then thinner your veggie is the shorter time you'll need to cook it!
This is a nice treat instead of chips to eat on that hot summer day. Plus you dont have to worry about the fat in it!

With my kittens I am having a hard time doing things I want to do.
I will be making this tomorrow when my husband is working on the bathroom and the kittens are put up in their room. :) YAY!

Fruit Fly Experiment

So I have been on pinterest lately.. Okay a LOT lately!
I'm addicted to the site. I need help...
So as I was on the pretty little site. I saw a simple way to get rid of Fruit Flies. Now  am growing my own fruit and veggies this year and so my harvest has me cleaning and eat and cooking a lot of fruity things.
So this I thought I could try since I had these items laying around.

They say you only need
Apple Cider Vinegar

and
Liquid Dish Soap

Get a small glass and pour the Apple Cider Vinegar in about half way.
Then get your Liquid Dish Soap and add a couple of drops.
Then mix well.

This is what mine looks like.
NOW
I'll leave this on my counter in the kitchen for 1 week.
In a week.. Ill return and show you another picture.

7/12/2012
Bad news.. Last night my kittens jump on the kitchen and well knocked over the whole glass. So tonight ill have to re-due it!

7/13/2012
My kittens better be happy they are cute. They keep getting on my kitchen cabinets. Do I have to say what happened AGAIN!?
I'll try it again soon.. I promise! The vinegar just stinks up a storm.

Pecans.. oops Walnut Candies!

You'll need:

2 tablespoons sugar
and
2 tablespoon of water
With
1/4 cup of nuts. I used walnuts! The pinterest recipe called for pecans

Put all together in a sauce pan.
With in 3-5 minutes it was boiling and was pretty much done.

Here is the finished product.
It tasted very good. But I don't eat a lot of sugary stuff.
It looked like I put syrup all over it :)

Raspberry Sauce Slow Cooker Style

Sorry it was way too hot to take pictures of all my garden stuff today, 107 here!
I'll do it soon though promise.

So I want to share with you a nice little recipe I found. Im actually cooking right now. So in 75 minutes ill let you know how it turned out.

You'll Need:

1/2 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon of Cinnamon

1/2 cup of O.J.

(FYI I reuse a lot of resealable freezer bags.. So this is not store bought berries in this bag.)
The recipe asks for 24 ounce. I just used what I have that was turning mushy from my yard :)

The recipe also says to cook for 3 hour on low.. lol! Im not staying up that late... Its already 11:11pm. So its on high for 90 minutes.

You'll need a glass bowl, I used my big measuring cup. Put it in the Slow Cooker.
Then add your ingredients.

Wait........

Wait.....

Wait..

Then enjoy!

My husband tasted it and said he would think it would taste better cold. He mentioned putting it on top of pancakes, pies or even on top of ice cream!

This is what it looks like after chilled in my mason jar in the fridge!

For those you may not like those little bitty seeds you may want to use a Sieve. After you cook the sauce while its still hot you'll want to pour the sauce in this..

Yes I got this online. Cause I do not have one! :(
